Outrageous Owls

A Sharing and Support Group for “People Over a Certain Age”

Over 65? Want older, wiser living? OWLS discuss everything from practical business-like living wills to important issues like dealing with change and loss, promoting good health, and living in safe environments. OWLS invite you to join discussions about the pitfalls and privileges of aging. OWLS meet second Wednesdays of each month at 3:30.

Owls”, because we have done a lot of living and gotten a bit wiser over many years. Our sharing often tends to focus on issues of our lives that have come up as we proceed into our later years. Nobody “already knows” how it will be for each one of us, but in our sharing and caring, we are often able to find wisdom from one another, based on each one’s life experience.

Outrageous”, because we have outlived the need to conform to the wishes and demands of our elders, who may have reflected to us when we were young that acting according to our own needs and wishes was “outrageous”.  Now, we are “the elders,” and we are in the business of being accepting and supportive of ourselves and each other.

You do not need to be a member of UUFN to join us. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month in the Olympia Brown Room from 3:30p-5:30p.
