UUFN Summer Sundays for Kids

SUMMER 2018

During the summer UUFN’s Religious Education Program takes a less formal approach.  Kids always look forward to these fun summer activities. Here’s a list of some of the great plans our Developmental Director of Religious Education Andrea Harding has put together with the help of some talented UUFN members and friends!

July 1st – Explore the interconnected web of life today as we learn more about our feathered friends the https://tristatebird.org/!

July 8th – Learn the history of the UU Chalice and create a paper one.

July 15th – Paint mini flower pots for gifts or to keep.

July 22nd – Explore mindfulness meditation and create a mindfulness glitter jar.

July 29th – Gnomes, it wouldn’t be summer at UUFN without gnomes!  Bring your creativity and imagination for a day in the land of gnomes!  An annual favorite!!!

REMINDER: BEGINNING AUGUST 5th SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT 10:30 – 1/2 HOUR LATER

August 5th – Paint meditation stones while discussing personal symbols.

August 12th –  Sometimes sand is used to mark time. Often we wonder at the grains of sand on the beach. This Sunday make a sand bottle to take home and experiment with sand painting.

August 19th –  A Spirit of Play – A Service for All Ages and Family Picnic. Bring your most light-hearted spirit to this worship service of playful adventure in stores, songs, and reflection. Play invites others to join us in fun-filled connection. A Welcoming Picnic” follows the service. This is going to be a very special day at UUFN! Bring a friend or two if you can!

August 26th – Take Apart Party – Bring your curiosity.  We’ll supply the hammer!  The children will be taking apart printers, computers, and other discarded electronics to see just how they work! Perhaps they will find ways to upcycle them into new creations

Sept 2nd – We’ll be exploring the interdependent web of life that surrounds UUFN during a scavenger hunt!

Sept 9th – Join us for our annual Ingathering and Water Service. Bring a small amount of water from your home, your travels, or someplace special to you! Today is also the first day of the new Religious Exploration season for the children. All are welcome.
