Share The Plate – Forgotten Cats

For the month of July 2017, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark will  Share the Plate” with Forgotten Cats. Each month UUFN donates half of its total offerings to a different organization. Organizations must apply to be considered. The main criteria to apply is that the organization must be local and that the donations given will make a difference for the organization.

At Forgotten Cats, their mission is to humanely reduce the unwanted cat population and to stop the suffering of the thousands of kittens born to abandoned homeless cats. They do this by working with colony caretakers to trap, sterilize, vaccinate, and return every cat within a colony. To date, they have sterilized 100,000 cats across PA, DE, MD, and NJ. This has, in turn, prevented the birth of millions of kittens. When they trap friendly cats and kittens, they put them up for adoption in one of their 8 adoption centers in Pennsylvania and Delaware. This year, they adopted out their 10,000th cat! The donations received in July will go directly to caring for their cats in our clinics and adoption centers (food, medical supplies, cleaning, etc).
