Advent and the “Coming” of Winter

Sunday, December 01, 2024, 10:30am

Presenter: Marie Laberge

Service Description:

December 1st marks the first day of Advent. In Christianity, Advent marks the period of awaiting the coming of Jesus, both in celebration of his birth on Dec 25th as well as celebration of the Second Coming. As Unitarian Universalists we have perhaps a different understanding of Advent but perhaps there is something we can learn from it. As we enter into December and the darkness of winter, we are also preparing to celebrate holidays and lighting candles. December is a holy month. Let us celebrate together.
