"Helping, fixing and serving represent three different ways of seeing life," says author and physician Rachael Naomi Remen. "When you help, you see life as weak. When you fix, you see life as broken. When you serve, you see life as whole." We aren't taught to see distinctions between the different approaches to our natural urge to be of assistance to another.
