In the classic coming-of-age novel by Ursula K. Le Guin, A Wizard of Earthsea, the main character, Ged, experiences a moment of great happiness in which he feels like “a word spoken by the sunlight.”

In this service, by calling on the works of Thich Nhat Hanh (Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet) and other authors, UUFN Lay Leader John Pesek will explore ways in which we can all experience joy and be “a word spoken by the sunlight.”

Just as in Le Guin’s story, the key is to discover who we really are.
