More than 100,000 Delawareans live in poverty and need help with legal issues that they can’t resolve on their own. The Combined Campaign for Justice (CCJ) raises funds to support the state’s three organizations that provide free civil legal aid services to our most vulnerable residents–people who are poor, people with disabilities, and people who are over the age of 60. These organizations are the Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. (CLASI), Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Inc. (DVLS), and Legal Services Corporation of Delaware (LSCD). There is a significant justice gap in the US and in Delaware—more than 80 percent of the civil legal needs of poor people are going unmet—and the goal of CCJ is to help bridge that gap by making legal aid available to more people when it matters most.
