This year, The Newark Police Department is participating in the Faith and Blue Program, which aims to build strong ties and relationships with all places of worship in the City of Newark.

They will be doing a “Rolling Tour” of the houses of worship and will be with us at UUFN on October 8th. The goal is for the congregation to see us, the Police Department, as part of the community, build bridges and simply get to know everyone.

On that day, the Newark Police Department is hosting a community barbeque event for Faith and Blue Weekend from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Dickey Park. The event is open to everyone in the community but especially faith-based organizations partnering with the program.

The barbeque will have food, ice cream, a bounce house for kids, music, and other entertainment.

UUFN will be joining the celebration event with a table. Faith and Blue is about bringing everyone together as a community.

You can join it by greeting Officer Maiura before or after our service on Oct 8th and also attend the barbecue.
