Music and Choir
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark Choir is open to members and friends of the fellowship and no formal audition is required. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:15 – 8:45 pm from September to June and attendance at as many rehearsals as possible is strongly recommended. New members are always welcome and a long-term commitment is not required. In general, the choir sings one or two pieces in worship on one or two Sundays per month, and often sings at special services, such as Christmas Eve.
The choir draws musical inspiration from many genres. The purpose of the choir is to enhance the worship service by presenting music that compliments the theme of the day. In addition to singing in the choir, there are other musical opportunities available throughout the year – special music, instrumental opportunities, and playing piano for Sunday worship services. If you are interested in joining the choir, would like to play another musical role, or if you have any other questions, please speak directly with Anthony.
