A meeting of A.L.E.R.T. (Allied Local Emergency Response Team) will be held in the Youth Center at First Unitarian Church on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. You are invited to attend. In working toward its goal to foster connections among diverse communities, A.L.E.R.T. schedules a series of meetings at different locations in New Castle County. If you were unable to attend the meeting here at First U in September, please join us for the October meeting. This organization had its beginnings right here at First UU on February 21st, 2017. On that date at the invitation of the YWCA over 100 people gathered in fellowship hall to take a stand against injustice. Within weeks A.L.E.R.T. was born as an action-oriented rapid response team working to meet the immediate needs of the local community after incidents of injustice.
