Peace Week Delaware, September 21-29
During this week, UUFN will join peace-loving folks across our state in a series of events and actions raising awareness and hope for peace in our communities, nation, and world. UUFN will be a collection site for two initiatives. Boxes will be located in the foyer of the building:
Syrian Refugees: This initiative of Pacem in Terris and the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund seeks to help the millions of refugees displaced by the war in Syria. Details coming soon on the types of items requested.
Change the Cycle Menstrual Products: Tampons, pads, panty liners, and cups—items that can’t be purchased with food stamps or WIC—will help poor women in our community maintain their personal hygiene, health, and dignity.
Labyrinth Walk for Peace
Monday, September 23, 7-8 pm.
Sponsored by the Labyrinth Committee.
Experience the peace and inspiration that can come from walking a labyrinth. Accompanied by soft candlelight and music, you can find the heart space in yourself for transformation and renewal. Contact Karen Barker for more information.
Wednesday, September 25, 6-9 pm.
Sponsored by the Zen Meditation Group.
Participants can seek peace in their hearts that is the source for peace in the world. Each half-hour we will spend a few minutes with presentations for peace. Contact John Pesek for more information.
An Inside Look at Immigration at the Local Level
Thursday, September 26, 5:30 – 8 pm.
Presented by Erika Gutierrez.
Open your senses and understand what we know and don’t know about immigration and our direct connection to it all. Featuring music, arts, and a panel of speakers, the evening will celebrate the important impact of immigrants and what their contributions mean.
