Director's Welcome
• Develop a personal spirituality • Form a maturing sense of morality, ethics and values • Sharpen critical thinking skills • Grow in appreciation of diversity • Become motivated to social action • Acquire basic knowledge of and appreciation for major world religions We agree with Sophia Lyon Fahs, a celebrated twentieth-century Unitarian Universalist religious educator, that “a new religious era is emerging from the womb of yesterday, and our youth should be intelligently prepared to help in its birth.” Our classes for children and teens meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. at the same time as the morning service is held. Occasional special activities are held at other times. Also, some Sundays, we hold special events during the ten o’clock hour in place of the regular class, such as intergenerational services together with the adults and chalice chapels, just for young people. Of course spiritual quest and ethical living is not just for children. Under the heading of “Lifespan Learning,” we offer opportunities for adults as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me at Harvey@uufn.org. When you visit the Fellowship, I look forward to meeting you. - Harvey
